Supercourse CD/DVD/Mirroring and Downloading

  • Currently the size of the whole Supercourse is about 1,9 GB size in 27 zip files, which contain 3611 lectures. It fits the size of three CD Roms or one DVD Rom. You also may create mirror at your server or directly at your personal computer.

  • Mirror site listserv: Please inform your E-mail address changes. Also please check availability of new, deleted and updated files of Supercourse at this page.  

  • Mirror site updating: Once a mirror has set up and/or been updated regularly, in the next updating mirror administrators need to download only those newly uploaded lectures after their last updating.

  • Supercourse CD-ROM: We have limited number of Supercourse CD-ROM (November 2002 edition with first 1000 lectures). If you would like to teach your students with this CD-ROM, please contact Dr. Mita Lovalekar (mital@pitt.edu) and let her know your affiliation and complete mailing address. We will send you CD-ROM free of charge.

How to group the zip files for mirroring, CD/DVD creation or work from personal computer:

  • 1. Please create folder "Supercourse" at any directory. Please unzip base.zip file into it.

  • 2. Please unzip all files from lecxxxx.zip folders into "lecture" folder inside of "Supercourse" folder.

  • 3. Please start a work from index.htm file at the "Supercourse" folder.

  • 4. You may create a DVD or CD with any lectures in Supercourse format. It is easy task for the person who may burn a CD/DVD.

Creation of Supercourse DVD:
1. Please create folder "Supercourse DVD" at any place of your hard drive. Please unzip base.zip file into it.
2. Please unzip all files from another zip files into "lecture" folder inside of "Supercourse" folder.
3. Now you may burn Supercourse DVD including all content of "Supercourse DVD" folder.
4. Run Supercourse from index.htm file inside of "Supercourse DVD" folder.

Please register with your name, E-mail and Country before, during or after download.  Send information to: super1@Pitt.edu 

 

How to create Supercourse Mirror site:

1. Please create folder "Supercourse" at any place of your server. Please unzip base.zip file into it.

2. Please unzip the rest zip files into "lecture" folder inside of "Supercourse" folder.

3. "Supercourse" folder have now all files for mirroring.

4. Please link index.htm file inside of "Supercourse" folder to run a Supercourse.

5. Check periodically for updates/new lectures.

Step by step procedure for downloading files from www.pitt.edu/~super1/assist/download.htm  page for creation of Supercourse DVD or Mirror server.


1. Create folder with the name SUPERCOURSE at any place of your hard drive. You should have at least 2 Gb of free space for all content.

2. Open www.pitt.edu/~super1/assist/download.htm page and clicking base.zip file. Download this zip file to any place of your computer and unzip into SUPERCOURSE folder/directory you created.
